Our intestines – an organ of superlatives
The intestine is a true blessing for our health. Its approximately 500 square metres need to be well looked after.
A healthy bowel is ...
- the digestive nerve centre which ensures that nutrients are absorbed
- the home of the immune system and a protective shield against the diseases of modern civilisation
- its own ecosystem with helpful bacteria that fight off pathogens
- a particularly important energy supplier due to its versatile microbiome
- captain of the gut-brain axis for a brighter mood and greater resilience
- a guarantee of a good night’s sleep thanks to serotonin as a precursor of melatonin
- aan abdominal brain and producer of the happiness hormone serotonin and other messenger substances
80 percent of the immune system is directly connected to the intestines. In order for it to function optimally, the path through the colon needs to be clear. If toxins and waste materials are not broken down and excreted there quickly enough, the body can poison itself in a process known as autointoxication.
The first step is thus to syphon off the toxic substances that result from faecal residues and putrefaction processes. This also reduces the risk of leaky gut syndrome, in which harmful substances can enter the bloodstream unhindered.
This is followed by microbiome decontamination. The intestinal microbiome supplies up to 25 percent of our energy needs. It ensures the energy supply, has a regulating influence on the immune system and activates our self-healing powers.
Both procedures can be optimally combined with conventional medicine and alternative methods: as the basis for all restorative and regenerative treatments.
