Detox intensive as 5 daily treatments

Colon hydrotherapy: What does it involve?

Each treatment has its own dynamic and usually lasts between one and two hours. The time required for an individual treatment largely depends on intestinal peristalsis, which is stimulated by a manual medical technique applied to the abdomen. This treatment tones the intestines and relaxes spastic bowel segments. The smooth muscles in the large intestine contract periodically, causing forward movement in the large intestine. This peristaltic movement in the digestive tract varies greatly from one person to another. Thus patients with chronic constipation need significantly more hours of treatment than those who describe regular to frequent bowel movements.

Colon hydrotherapy in combination with manual medical treatment of the abdomen mobilises old stool residues and stimulates detoxification via the intestines. In order to prevent recontamination as far as possible, i.e. the absorption of already dissolved residues from the intestine, two daily treatments are planned. The usual treatment programme is one session in the morning and another in the afternoon. Based on our 20 years of experience in the field of intestinal cleansing and rehabilitation, we recommend that at least five full days should be planned for a thorough detox to set the course for lasting therapeutic success.

Treatment procedure

The patient lies on a comfortable therapy bed during treatment. A medical device which was originally developed for space exploration is used to irrigate the entire large intestine. In other words, the patient is given a high-tech enema to cleanse the colon. A small speculum is inserted into the rectum, to which a transparent hose is attached. This is fed with water, which flushes out the intestinal contents in an odourless procedure. The therapeutic device has an illuminated viewing window so that you can see the substances leaving your body during treatment.

Baden-Baden has good quality drinking water and in the treatment device itself this is additionally filtered and irradiated with ultraviolet light to ensure absolute sterility. Among other things, coffee enemas and bitter herbs are used during therapy to improve the detoxification capacity of the liver and to speed up the dissolution and removal of faecal residues that contain foci of fermentation or putrefaction.

After therapy, probiotics are administered to encourage targeted growth of healthy intestinal flora.

Colon hydrotherapy is absolutely safe. The technique requires know-how and finesse as well as medical expertise. It should therefore be carried out by a trained therapist.
